Last Days At Sea

LAST DAYS AT SEA on the MS VEENDAM

Friday 20th April 2012 and Saturday 21st April 2012

We enjoyed 2 lovely sunny days at see, as the MS VEENDAM took us all the way from FT.LAUDERDALE to NEW YORK CITY. 

There was of course the packing of the suitcases to do, which we did leisurely over these days as well as relaxing and enjoying the rest of the time.

It also gave an opportunity, rather early one morning to take some photographs inside around the MS VEENDAM when there was no-one around.

Then again later in the day on we were able to take some more photographs on and around the various decks of the MS VEENDAM also.

On the Friday evening there was 1 more “formal evening” and the FAREWELL DINNER where we were able to thank our teams of waiters and their assistants in the ROTTERDAM DINING ROOM (especially SMILEY, FAIZAL and DEXTER) who had so wonderfully served us for most of the time over the past 5 weeks at sea.

On the Saturday (and last day, evening and night aboard the MS VEENDAM) we decided to have lunch in the PINNACLE GRILL, which was (once again, after the “LE CIRQUE” evening there) an absolute delight, with some wonderful lunchtime dishes served to us.

That evening we enjoyed dinner with our friends living in Belgium, CHRISTINE and HELMUT. Which, although a little sad, it was a most enjoyable and rather fitting way to end our “CRUISE OF A LIFETIME” on the HOLLAND AMERICAN LINE cruise ship the MS VEENDAM.
