New York City, New York, USA

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK Cruise Arrival Point
Sunday 22nd April 2012

Arriving into NEW YORK CITY in the State of NEW YORK in the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA on board the MS VEENDAM was both an amazing and an emotional experience, as it is the end of this most fantastic cruise adventure and this part of our JOURNEY TO THE AMERICAS.

To cruise into NEW YORK CITY in such a manner passing Ellis Island, the Statue of Liberty and then sailing up the Hudson River passed Lower MANHATTEN to Upper Manhatten was breathtaking, especially as the weather, although rather cool and breezy, stayed kind for us.

The new addition to the NEW YORK CITY Manhattan Skyline was very noticable as the new "One World Trade Centre" Building under construction was shortly to become the tallest building in NEW YORK CITY.

We disembarked the Holland America Line MS VEENDAM cruise ship at the Cruise Terminal in Upper Manhatten in the MANHATTEN DISTRICT of NEW YORK CITY sadly, for the last time and were re-united with all our luggage.

We were then transferred by coach to NEW YORK-NEWARK LIBERTY INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, close by in the State of NEW JERSEY.

Here we were to catch the AMERICAN AIRLINES flight we had booked to MIAMI, (again) in the State of FLORIDA with a connecting flight.

Travelling onwards to the infamous PRINCESS JULIANA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT on the island of ST.MAARTEN/ST.MARTIN where we have safely arrived and are settling in to being back “on land” again.
